Drag Storytime

Drag Storytime Chapter 9

Raise Up Fundraising brings Drag Storytime back to the local St. John's Farmers' Market in partnership with St. John's Farmers' Market. Come meet a new local Drag Queen Amanita 95 reader. Join us for some spooky stories and candy, then photos with drag royalty are encouraged.

Partnering with the St. John's Farmers' Market we will create a welcoming event for all members of the community/family. From the hours of 2PM-3PM with lots of TREATS and no TRICKS. Come enjoy Halloween themed stories you can find at your local library or bookstore in the Farmers' Market Community Room.

We'll also still be collecting donations for the Parents of Trans & Gender Diverse Kids - Newfoundland & Labrador youth summer camp like we have at past "Reading Isn't A Drag" Raise Up Fundraising Drag Story Times.

Drag storytime chapter 8

Come join us at the St. John's Farmers' Market on Saturday September 22nd at 10am with the Writers' Alliance of Newfoundland and Labrador as we have partnered with these two wonderful organizations to bring you Raise Up Fundraising's next Drag Story Time in support of Parents of Trans & Gender Diverse Kids - Newfoundland & Labrador youth summer camp. Where two stories by two local young authors will be read.

Pride Parade DRAG STORYTIME in the Park

We want to give local drag queen Liezel Hues a special great big thank you for agreeing to our on the spot request to be our “Reading Isn’t A Drag” Drag Story Time in The Park drag reader. The weather had this event cancelled at one point which was a true drag. But Liezel was a ray of sunshine to read today and help us gave away a few books donated by TD bank.

Raise Up Fundraising brought Drag Storytime to St. John's with local drag superstar Irma Gerd. It was an event for all ages in which stories and crafts took place, and people left with their very own drag paper doll!

Photos with Irma were encouraged.

Special thanks to Parents of Trans and Gender Diverse Kids NL, who were on site to help with this event, and to the staff at Chapters for all their help and for sharing in our excitement.
